The Three Main Styles of Photography

Hey y'all!! Hope you are doing well! Today we are going to discuss the three main types of photography. This is an important blog because this helps me get to know my clients. I want to be sure that the work that I provide them with is actually something that they are looking for. We are all different people and we all have different things that stand out to us, so, it is important for me to find that before I take any client out on a shoot. But let's dive right in....

The first one is what I call dramatic. This style usually consists of more shadows, creative scenery and set up. The awesome part about this style is that is look "COOL" but there is only so much that you can do on one shoot. So, if this is something that you would like to see in your photos, it is usually also incorporated with some other style. Here are a couple examples;

Next up is Creative. This is very closely related to dramatic but there is a lot more that you can do here. I define creative as playing around with lighting, foreground, background, positioning, and other technicalities to create something different and unique. I love to get creative with my clients but one thing I also make sure is that the photos always look natural and reflect their personalities. Losing these qualities in the photos is very easy when you going creative so, I always keep this in the back of my head when I am shooting. Here are a few examples;

The final style is what I call neutral. This style incorporates very editorial looking candid/normal photos. This style is best suited for clients that want to see their special day documented very well but also have a good mix of candid and natural looking photos. This style is also very well suited for people who are not a huge fan of the dramatic or creative style. Here are some examples;

And that's all for this one folks. Stay tuned for the next one!
